Looking for an interesting internship in the field of Chemical Engineering or Nanotechnology? At Veco we have an interesting project available! This is the analyses of pre- and post-treatments for lithographic processes on the surface properties of metal substrates. Interested in this challenge? We would like to be in touch with you!
The main goal of the internship and project is an improved lacquer adhesion to the substrate and better wetting of high aspect ratio structures during electroforming for our lithographic processes. During this project you will test the effect of different pre- or post-treatments on the surface properties for a number of critical products:
- literature study and building theoretical framework for surface treatments;
- testing the effect of current pretreatments with e.g. contact angle measurements for different substrates and paint systems;
- identifying and performing potential improved treatments and tests for critical products;
- analyses of results;
Project duration: 4-6 months Start: immediate to September 2021 Location: Eerbeek Internship grant available
What are we looking for in a Student?
We are looking for a Master student within the field of Chemical Engineering or Nanotechnology. This can be an Internship or master thesis/final project. We are preferably looking fors ome familiarity with lithographic processes. Besides that we are looking for a student who is proactive, independent and can work within a team.
What means working as an intern at Veco
At Veco Precision we produce precision metal parts by electroforming, developing increasingly accurate (submicron scale) and more complex (multi-layer) processes. Lithography is a crucial step in determining feature dimensions. Surface properties of the substrate before and after the lithographic process have a major influence on the product quality. In this project you will be identifying the current state of the surface properties at different stages of the process and identify, and test improved pre- or post-treatments. You will work within our R&D team, consisting of 8 employees.
Our company culture can be described as an open environment with employees that have the will to achieve goals and push boundaries. We’re open to each other’s ideas and there’s the freedom to develop yourself as a person and professional. Our products and processes are unique and this is something we are very proud off! We are financially healthy and keep to grow and develop ourselves. Because of this we keep having wonderful challenges for everyone. Also for you!
Would you like to know more or apply, you are welcome!
